MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012974 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'wooden plank holding device.'

Inventor(s) include Jaspreet Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wooden plank holding device, comprising a circular platform 1 positioned on a ground surface and installed with a hollow cylindrical member 3 housed with a threaded bar 4 which is attached with a plate 5 having a U-shaped frame 6 to accommodate a wooden plank whose thickness is detected by an ultrasonic sensor, a set of pneumatic blocks 7 extend/retract for gripping plank, a weight sensor detects weight of plank, an expandable pulley arrangement integrated within platform 1 for increasing/decreasing diameter of platform 1 for distributing weight of plank on ground surface, a computing unit is accessed by user for giving input commands for lifting plank, a DC motor rotates member 3 for lifting plank, an angle sensor detects angle of platform 1, and plurality of telescopically operated rods 8 configured between platform 1 and suction cups 2 to extend/retract for counteracting angle."
