MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011952 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 12, for 'wooden workpiece designing device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Dhirendra Nath Thatoi.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wooden workpiece designing device, comprising a platform 101 positioned on a fixed surface and developed to be placed with a wooden workpiece, a plate 102 installed parallelly over platform 101 via a pair of rods 103 and suspended with multiple motorized cutters 104 of different shape for crafting workpiece in user-defined design, an ultrasonic sensor configured on platform 101 for detecting thickness of workpiece, a pair of L-shaped telescopically operated links 105 arranged with platform 101 to extend for positioning an omnidirectional wheel 111 arranged with each of links 105 in contact with workpiece to hold workpiece on platform 101, a telescopically operated bar 106 configured with each of cutters 104 to extend for positioning cutter 104 in contact with workpiece and an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 107 for detecting length of workpiece."
