MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311079707 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Nov. 23, 2023, for 'wooden workpiece plaining device.'

Inventor(s) include Vikas Kaushik; Sarabjeet Singh; and Pradeep Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wooden workpiece plaining device, comprising a platform 1 configured with multiple suction cups 2 developed to be affixed on a ground surface, a slot 3 is mapped on the platform 1 for enabling a user to position a workpiece over the slot 3, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 mapped on the platform 1 to detect shape and size of the workpiece, a touch interactive display panel 6 mapped on the platform 1 for enabling the user to input details regarding a type of shape the user desires to craft over the workpiece, a box 7 stored with multiple shaping tools positioned on the platform 1 and an angle sensor 10 mapped on the platform 1 to detect inclination angle of the workpiece with respect to the shaping arrangement 9."
