MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511127099 A) filed by Rayat Bahra University; Bahra University; and Rayat Bahra Professional University, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 15, 2025, for 'worn-out thread repairing assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Printy Dhadwal; Pushpender Sharma; Simarnjit Kaur; and Ankit Sharma.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A worn-out thread repairing assistive device comprises of an elongated body 101 with a handle 104 at proximal end 103 for threading operation, positioning the distal end 102 over the damaged thread of a mechanical part, a microphone 105 allows a user to give voice commands for thread repair, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 106, synced with a laser sensor, to detect the depth of the worn-out thread hole to evaluate required size of nut and drill bit for re-threading operation, a robotic arm 107 installed on the body 101 to grip suitable nut from a multi-sectioned chamber 108 to insert in the hole of the mechanical part via a grip-and-twist arrangement 109 arranged at the distal end 102 for completing the thread repair process."
