MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541069553 A) filed by Nithyasri M; V Madhumitha; Sakthivel Manokaran; Dr. C. Senthil Kumar; Dr. R. Renugadevi; and M. P. Ayyappadas, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on July 21, 2025, for 'wound healing ointment from solanum americanum and tridax procumbens.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This study assesses a plant-based formulation made from Tridax procumbens and Solanum americanum's capacity to heal wounds. Bioactive substances with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant qualities were discovered by phytochemical investigation. In an animal model, the formulation demonstrated positive physicochemical characteristics and promoted wound healing, reaching 100% contraction by the 18th day. The results point to the plant-based formulation's potential as a natural substitute for conventional wound care."
