MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018196 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 13, 2024, for 'writing tool protection device.'

Inventor(s) include Prashant Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A writing tool protection device comprises a circular extendable frame 1 accommodated around a writing tool to be protected, conical shaped electromagnetic spring 2 is attached with the frame 1 by means of a pair of telescopic rods 3 to protect tip and collar portion of the writing tool from any collision with surrounding objects, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 7 installed on the frame 1 for determining dimensions of the writing tool, a tactile sensor installed with the frame 1 to determine gripping of the writing tool by the user for writing over a surface, laser measurement sensor installed over the frame 1 to monitor dimension of a hand of the user, a temperature sensor installed with the frame 1 to monitor temperature in surroundings, and an air blower 4 arranged with the frame 1 to blow air towards the hand."
