Abstract: This invention discloses a high-efficiency, scalable power converter for high-power DC electric vehicle (EV) charging, supporting 100kW and 200kW ratings. The two- stage design combines a multilevel dual active bridge and a buck converter, enabling stable voltage conversion across a wide input range of 600V to 1200V. With a fixed 1500V high-voltage DC output, adaptable from 200V to 1500V, the converter meets modern standards like MCS and ChaoJi. Utilizing Cascaded H-Bridge topology with a high-frequency transformer on both sides minimizes current stress, enhancing durability. Integrated silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductors improve power density and efficiency, while advanced thermal management optimizes performance. The modular, bidirectional architecture supports applications such as vehicle-to-grid (V2G), vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), and vehicle-to-home (V2H), making it versatile across EV platforms and charging use cases.
