MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617071468 A) filed by Novelis Koblenz Gmbh on June 09, 2026, for 4xxx Series Aluminum Alloys For Brazing Applications Comprising Recycled Content.
Inventors include Jacoby, Bernd; Ritz, Fabian; Smeyers, Axel Alexander Maria; and Kirkham, Steven.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: 4xxx series aluminum alloys may be fabricated with a mixed cladded alloy recycled material (e.g., a mixed cladded alloy, pre- consumer recycled material). Said aluminum alloys may have higher copper and manganese concentrations than traditional 4xxx series aluminum alloys. For example, a 4xxx series aluminum alloy may include: 6 wt. % to 13 wt. % silicon, 0.1 wt. % to 0.7 wt. % iron, 0.1 wt. % to 1.5 wt. % copper, 0.1 wt. % to 1.9 wt. % manganese, up to 2 wt. % magnesium, up to 0.1 wt. % chromium, up to 3 wt. % zinc, up to 0.2 wt. % titanium, up to 0.1 wt. % zirconium, up to 0.3 wt. % of impurities, and aluminum. Said aluminum alloy may be produced from at least 50 wt. % recycled content, where at least 50 wt. % of the recycled content is a mixed cladded alloy recycled.
