MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621073682 A) filed by Ankur Jain; and Anindita Tiwari on June 13, 2026, for A Battery Balancing System And Method For A Multi-Cell Battery Pack.

Inventor includes Ankur Jain.

The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT A BATTERY BALANCING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR A MULTI-CELL BATTERY PACK A battery balancing system (100) for a multi-cell battery pack (102) and a corresponding method (200) are disclosed. The system (100) comprises a monitoring unit (104) configured to obtain voltage information of a plurality of battery cells (106), a prediction unit (108) configured to determine a voltage rise rate (dV/dt), estimate a projected time for each battery cell (106) to reach an upper voltage limit, and identify a battery cell (106) expected to reach a predefined voltage condition before one or more remaining battery cells (106), and a balancing unit (110) configured to initiate a balancing operation for the predicted battery cell (106) prior to occurrence of the predefined voltage condition. The balancing unit (110) may selectively connect a passive bleed path (214) through a passive balancing circuit (120) within a prediction horizon (118). The method (200) comprises obtaining (202) voltage information, predicting (204) the battery cell, and initiating (206) the balancing operation before occurrence of the predefined voltage condition. FIG. 1 will be the reference figure.
