Abstract: A pneumatic bias tire for a slag pot carrier includes a tread A disposed on an outer surface of the tire, a base region J disposed radially inward of the tread A, sidewall regions SW extending from the tread A, and a carcass C extending through the tread A, the base region J, and the sidewall regions SW. The carcass C includes breaker strips B1-B4 and plies P1-P12. Each bead region includes a bead ring region K and a bead filler H, and a chafer CH is positioned adjacent the bead ring region K between the carcass C and a mounting rim. The tire is configured with dimensional ranges and material selections providing load-bearing capacity, heat resistance, cut resistance, abrasion resistance, rim retention, and shock absorption for slag pot carrier service, thereby reducing downtime, improving operator comfort, and extending tire life under severe steel plant operating conditions.
