Abstract: The present invention relates to a bio-inspired hybrid robotic system configured to provide adaptive locomotion across varied terrains. The system comprises a legged locomotion module having a multi-degree-of-freedom (DoF) articulated leg assembly configured to enable controlled gait movement based on inverse kinematic computations, and a wheeled locomotion module configured to facilitate energy-efficient traversal over substantially planar surfaces. The system further comprises a control architecture including a microcontroller unit interfaced with a pulse-width modulation (PWM) servo driver for synchronized actuation of a plurality of joints, and one or more drive motors configured to enable rolling motion. A vision-based monitoring module comprising a wireless camera unit is operatively coupled to the control architecture to enable real-time image acquisition and remote teleoperation through a communication interface. The hybrid configuration enables selective or combined operation of legged and wheeled modes, thereby improving terrain adaptability, energy efficiency, and operational versatility for robotic applications.
