Abstract: The invention relates to multifunctional biochar materials and discloses an unmodified cow dung-derived biochar produced from dairy-derived cow dung by drying and pyrolysis under limited oxygen conditions to obtain a black, carbon-rich material characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy. The biochar provides technical advancement by serving as a single common functional material for three distinct uses, namely latent fingerprint development on porous and non-porous surfaces with ridge details including trifurcation, arc, loop, and bifurcation, adsorption-based treatment of crystal violet dye-containing wastewater with high adsorption capacity at 0.5 g/L, and as a carrier for plant growth- promoting rhizobacteria from arecanut rhizosphere with comparative enhancement studies. Treated wastewater is further assessed by Vigna radiata and Galleria mellonella models.
