Abstract: A biodegradable polymer based implantable drug system is disclosed for sustained therapeutic delivery after placement in tissue. The structure moderates initial burst release, supports controlled fluid ingress, stabilizes the internal microenvironment during polymer erosion, and maintains insertion strength. After the delivery period, the implant progressively degrades into biocompatible residues, reducing the need for removal.
