MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611077742 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Banaras Hindu on June 24, 2026, for A Biomass Fired Modified Organic Rankine Cycle Based System.

Inventors include Shailendra Kumar Shukla; Vikash Kumar Chauhan; and Sooraj Maurya.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides biomass fired modified organic rankine cycle based system (100) comprising a fluid tank (1) to supply a heat transfer fluid to said preheater (2) configured to preheat said heat transfer fluid. A furnace (3) is connected to said preheater (2) to reheat said heat transfer fluid. The furnace (4) connected to an evaporator (4) configured to transfer the heat from said heat transfer fluid to a working fluid, to vaporize and expand said working fluid. A scroll expander (5) is connected to said evaporator (4) and said scroll expander (5) generates electrical power from the expanded working fluid. The economizer (6) is connected to said scroll expander (5) and said economizer (6) is configured for recovering heat from warm low-pressure working fluid vapor and transfer the recovered heat to preheat a subcooled pressurized working-fluid supplied from said condenser (7) prior to entry into said evaporator (4).
