MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411091549 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Ropar on November 25, 2024, for A Buck-Boost Converter Integrated With A Switched Reluctance Motor (srm) Drive.
Inventors include Prabhat; and Ravi Teja, A. V..
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a buck-boost converter (300) integrated with a Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) drive (516) comprising a supply voltage (302), a capacitor (304) connected in parallel to the supply voltage (302), a plurality of phase windings (334), a set of main switches (330) and a set of secondary switches (332). The set of main switches (330) and the set of secondary switches (332) are configured to form a leg-type inverter configuration, and a gate driver is used to drive the leg-type inverter configuration. The set of secondary switches (332) is configured to maintain a voltage of the capacitor (304) equal to a reference voltage (602), and a phase winding from the plurality of phase windings (334) acts as an inductor during a buck-boost operation of the switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive (516).
