Abstract: The present invention relates to a breadboard system for prototyping both analogue and digital circuits and provides an electronic prototyping system to construct one or more complex electronic circuits, wherein each circuit board is designed and built to provide a specific function that contributes to an overall system design. The present invention provides an electronic circuit module unit comprising a circuit board device with a plurality of electrical contacts arranged within a circuit layout to enable electronic components to be releasably connected by solderless contacts within the circuit layout. The electrical contacts provide a first configuration of component connections to form a first type of signal processing circuit with a first signal processing function, and a second configuration of component connections to form a second type of signal processing circuit with a second signal processing function. The connection of a first set of electrical components in the first configuration forms the first type of signal processing circuit with the first signal processing function having primary characteristics and replacement of at least one electrical component of a first type having a first value for another electrical component of the first type having a second value changes the primary characteristics whilst maintaining the first type of signal processing circuit with the first signal processing function.
