MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611004869 A) filed by Dr Vasudhesh Vijay; and Vijashay Biofabrication Private Limited on January 18, 2026, for A Closed-Loop Patient-Specific Biofabrication Platform For Manufacturing, Conditioning, Transporting, And Validating Autologous Living Skin Constructs With Mechanical-Stress Buffering, Automated Quality Release, And Long-Term Remodeling Stability.

Inventor includes Dr Vasudhesh Vijay.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: A closed-loop biofabrication platform for producing patient-specific autologous living skin constructs is disclosed. The platform comprises a deposition or assembly subsystem configured to form a multilayer construct comprising at least an epidermal cellular component and a dermal cellular component, a sterile conditioning subsystem configured to maintain controlled maturation parameters, a sensing subsystem configured to generate measurement data representing at least one of structural integrity, barrier proxy, contamination proxy, or mechanical stability proxy, and a processor configured to evaluate said data against predefined release criteria to generate an automated release decision and an auditable release record. The platform further comprises a mechanical stress buffering subsystem configured to protect the construct from shear, stretch, and/or compression during early clinical deployment, and a sterile transport cassette configured to maintain the construct in a clinically deployable state.
