Abstract: The present disclosure relates apparatus (100) for testing a collapsable cover shorting electrical switch (CCES) (102). The apparatus a platform (106) adapted to secure the CCES 102. The CCES 102 includes an outer conductor (108) an inner conductor (110) concentrically disposed in the outer conductor (108) and insulated from an inner surface of the outer conductor (108). A collapsible cover (112) mounted over the first end (108a) of the outer conductor (108) and adapted to collapse over the first side (106a) of the platform (106) upon receipt of a predetermined force to establish electrical contact between the first ends (108a, 110) of the outer conductor (108) and the inner conductor (110). A data acquisition unit (104) adapted to generate a signal upon the establishment of the electrical contact between the first ends (108a, 110b) of the outer conductor (108) and the inner conductor (110).
