Abstract: ABSTRACT A COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM FOR AN UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE (UAV) AND A METHOD THEREOF The present disclosure envisages a collision avoidance system (200) for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) (100) and a method (300) thereof. The UAV (100) comprises a main body (102) and a plurality of arms (104) supporting propulsion motor assemblies. A plurality of wide-angle camera assemblies (204) mounted on the body (102), collectively defines a continuous perimeter and generates a first set of image frames. A pair of auxiliary wide-angle cameras (206A, 206B) are mounted on an upper surface and a lower surface of the main body (102) respectively, to generate second and third sets of image frames. A set of sensors generates sensor signals representing distances and velocities of surrounding objects. A processing unit (212) processes the image frames and sensor signals to generate navigation commands, and a flight controller (214) converts the navigation commands into motor control signals for the propulsion motor assemblies.
