Abstract: The present invention relates to a composite metal-polymer roofing and wall panel and a process for producing the same. The composite panel comprises a metal sheet or profiled metal insert integrated with one or more polymer composite layers and an optional thermal and/or acoustic insulation layer. The metal insert is provided with surface modifications and/or perforations to improve mechanical interlocking with the polymeric material. The polymer composite may comprise recycled or reprocessed thermoplastic materials including HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PE, PP or combinations thereof. The manufacturing process comprises preparation of polymer composite powder, layer arrangement within a mould, hydraulic hot compression and cooling under maintained pressure to form a substantially unitary composite structure. The resulting panel provides improved corrosion resistance, weather resistance, thermal insulation, acoustic performance, durability and suitability for roofing, wall cladding and other construction applications.
