The computing device (102) is configured to communicate with a vibrotactile stimulus generation subsystem (128) and a participant response acquisition subsystem (130). The processor (104) is configured to execute plurality of modules (108) for adaptive stimulus regulation, reversal monitoring, convergence evaluation, confidence-guided threshold localization, intelligent stopping, and vibrotactile perception threshold estimation. The confidence-guided adaptive convergence system (100) enhances usability of vibrotactile threshold assessment procedures in clinical, rehabilitation, neuroscience, sensory evaluation, and human-machine interaction applications.
