Abstract: The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising, ferulic acid and/or derivatives thereof, and Bacopa monnieri extract; wherein the cosmetic composition comprises an oil component in an amount less than 5% by weight relative to the total weight of the cosmetic composition. The present invention further relates to a method of enhancing solubility of ferulic acid and/or derivatives 10 thereof in a cosmetic composition, the method comprising mixing ferulic acid with Bacopa monnieri extract, in the presence of water to obtain the cosmetic composition with enhanced solubility of ferulic acid and/or derivatives thereof. The present invention also relates to a method of treating a keratin material, the method comprising applying the cosmetic composition as disclosed herein onto the keratin 15 material, preferably skin.
