MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641093719 A) filed by Sri Eshwar College Of Engineering on August 03, 2026, for A Customizable Smart Footwear With A Built-In Safety Illumination And Health Monitoring System..
Inventors include Sumitha R; Koushika V; Shree Ram Sundar T; and Sneya B R.
The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The proposed project presents a Smart Insole for Gait Analysis and Preventive Healthcare, which is designed to monitor foot health, walking patterns, and user stability in real time. It uses an MPU6050 motion sensor in conjunction with Force Sensitive Resistors (FSR) to record plantar pressure distribution and movement dynamics. The system assesses foot pressure, gait, balance, and temperature in order to detect problems such as gait imbalance, uneven weight distribution, high-pressure zones (ulcer risk), walking instability, and fall risk. After that, it makes early warnings using AI-based prediction. It provides notifications through mobile apps, vibration- based haptic feedback for posture adjustment, and real-time warnings when anomalies are found. Because it offers therapeutic features like vibration for blood flow and inactivity alarms, the technology is both beneficial and preventive. Additionally, the gadget enables detecting falls with emergency sirens for user protection and aids in rehabilitation by suggesting exercises including ankle strengthening exercises, heel-to-toe walking, and balance training. A smartphone application offers health reports, activity tracking, pressure heatmaps, balance scores, long-term data storage, and data sharing with doctors and caregivers. The goal is to develop intelligent, affordable, non-invasive the wearable device that might detect gait issues, prevent injuries, promote healing, and improve overall walking wellness and quality of existence.
