MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611040978 A) filed by Galgotias University on March 31, 2026, for A Device For Electromagnetic Absorption And Navigation.

Inventors include Dr. Yogendra Kumar Awasthi; Dr. Gaurav Saxena; Dr. Priyanka Jain; and Dr. Himanshu Singh.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna integrated with a metasurface absorber for electromagnetic absorption and navigation applications. The antenna comprises a ground plane, an FR4 substrate, and multiple antenna elements arranged in pairs. A metasurface consisting of unit cells formed by concentric circular and elliptical rings with lumped resistances is fabricated on the substrate. The metasurface reduces mutual coupling between antenna elements and enhances isolation. The antenna operates in the 8.75–9.0 GHz frequency band, achieving high absorption efficiency, low return loss, and improved radiation performance. The invention provides a compact, efficient, and scalable solution for advanced wireless communication and radar systems.
