Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE: A DEVICE FOR EXTRACTING SUGAR JUICE FROM SUGAR BEET ROOT The present invention relates to a device (500) for extracting sugar juice from sugar beet root (1). The device comprises a feed hopper (2) positioned above a trapezoidal screw shaft (4). The screw shaft (4) within the screw housing (5) has a gradually decreasing diameter and a progressively reducing screw pitch (10) between adjacent helical threads (9), thereby generating controlled pressure along its length within the housing (5) to facilitate mechanical extraction of sugar juice. A water spray assembly (11) having one or more nozzle(s) (12) enables diffusion-assisted extraction. An adjustable compression plate (14) supported by a floating assembly (17) provides adjustable compression. The device enables efficient, continuous, and scalable extraction with high juice yield and low-moisture solid residue.
