Abstract: [06] This study proposes a low-cost web-based system for tooth shade selection using a two-stage workflow. Value is assessed first from a grayscale image containing the tooth and three candidate shade tabs, followed by hue and chroma refinement using a second color image. The platform includes virtual 18% gray neutralisation, brightness and contrast adjustment, CIELAB analysis, shade ranking, and report generation. Synthetic testing on 12,000 cases achieved an 84.58% top-three value inclusion rate and improved exact agreement from 40.58% to 65.97% with full two-stage matching. The main novelty is software-based gray neutralisation without requiring a physical gray card. Clinical validation against a dental spectrophotometer and standardized photography is required before deployment.
