MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641124586 A) filed by Andhra University on October 15, 2026, for A Dual-Axis Photovoltaic Tracking System And Method Of Operating The Same.
Inventors include Mohamad Ahmad Shouki Abed; Dr. Amarendra Reddy; Prof. T. R. Jyothsna; and Dr. Nabil Mohammed.
The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a dual-axis photovoltaic tracking system (100) for optimizing dual-axis photovoltaic panel orientation. The system (100) comprises a photovoltaic panel (102), a dual-axis positioning assembly (104), a light-sensor assembly (106) having plurality of light-dependent resistors (108), a controller (112), an analog-to-digital converter (114), a motor driver (116), first and second DC motors (118, 122), and first and second encoders (120, 124). The light-sensor assembly (106) is configured to reduce sensor tracking error. The controller (112) determines azimuth-direction and tilt-direction movement from directional light-intensity signals and receives a mode-selection input identifying continuous or semi-continuous tracking. Continuous tracking operates without an introduced motor-response delay, while semi-continuous tracking applies a non-zero adjustable motor-response delay associated with a user-selected angular deviation. The motors (118, 122) physically reposition the photovoltaic panel (102) along azimuth and tilt axes.
