Inventors include Dr Ravi Shankar Prasad; Mr Ved Vyas Yadav; Mr Dharmendra Kumar Singh; Ms Deepika Mishra; Dr Sudhir Kumar; and Mr Saurabh Singh.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a dual-function apparatus (100) for fluid handling, comprising an electric motor (102) centrally located and connected to a crankshaft, and a twin cylinder arrangement (104) with a pair of cylinders positioned on either side of the crankshaft, each containing a piston. A plurality of non-return valves (NRVs) (106) are disposed at intake and exhaust ports to ensure unidirectional fluid flow. A cam arrangement integrated with the crankshaft and coupled to the NRVs controls the timing of intake and exhaust NRVs, enabling the apparatus to switch between compressor and vacuum pump modes. Additionally, a method for forming the dual-function apparatus involves configuring the cam arrangement to manage the timing of NRVs, allowing the twin cylinders to alternate between the two operational modes, ensuring efficient fluid handling and pressure optimization based on load demands.
