Abstract: The present disclosure proposes mucoadhesive nanostructured lipid carrier compositions (100) for oral delivery of antidiabetic drugs, including empagliflozin and linagliptin, for improving oral delivery performance, controlled release behaviour, intestinal interaction, and patient compliance in the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. The pharmaceutical nanostructured lipid carrier composition (100) comprises 1 to 1.5 weight percentage of empagliflozin (102), 0.2 to 0.5 weight percentage of linagliptin (104), 23 to 26 weight percentage of a solid lipid (106), 7 to 10 weight percentage of a liquid lipid (108), 14 to 18 weight percentage of a surfactant (110), 4 to 7 weight percentage of a co-surfactant (112), 1 to 2 weight percentage of fenugreek gum (114), 1.5 to 2.3 weight percentage of chitosan (116), and 39 to 42 weight percentage of trehalose (118). The pharmaceutical nanostructured lipid carrier composition (100) is suitable for freeze-drying and reconstitution.
