The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a biocompatible filament for wound approximation and an eco-friendly and facile method of preparation of the same. The filament comprises of a plurality of natural fibres and an organic polymer and is further obtained through a simple dip-coating technique, that ensures even coating and controlled thickness of the layer of the organic polymer, thereby facilitating the fibres to retain their structural integrity while also achieving good uniformity. Moreover, the present invention provides a filament with anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial activity, thereby demonstrating the potential utility of the coated fibres in biomedical applications and advanced material systems.
