MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641082122 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Hyderabad on July 03, 2026, for A Flavin Compound, A Method Of Preparation Of Said Compound, A Flavin Compound Based Probe For Detection Of Fluoride Ions And A Method Of Detection Thereof.

Inventors include Ashutosh Kumar Mishra; and Dipayan Mondal.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to compound of Formula I: Formula I. The compound of formula I is a silyl-functionalized flavin compound functioning as a probe for selective and sensitive detection of fluoride ions. The probe undergoes fluoride ion-induced desilylation via cleavage of the Si-O bond, resulting in formation of a Si-F bond and a detectable optical response, including a visible color change under ultraviolet light and fluorescence quenching with wavelength shift. The compound of formula I as a probe is selective, sensitive, having quick response times, and reliable. The present invention is also directed to a method of producing compound of Formula I.
