MUMBAI, India, June 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411092922 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Delhi on November 27, 2024, for A Fluorinated Poly(aromatic Heterocyclic-Co-Aryl Piperidine) Ionomer Based Catalyst Binder And A Process For Preparation Thereof.
Inventors include Tripathi, Bijay Prakash; and Mondal, Avoy.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fluorinated poly(aromatic heterocyclic-co-aryl piperidine) ionomer based catalyst binder and a process for preparation thereof. Particularly, the present invention relates to a novel quaternary copolymer of a fluorinated poly(aromatic heterocyclic-co-aryl piperidine) and process of preparation thereof. Said quaternary copolymer of a fluorinated poly(aromatic heterocyclic-co-aryl piperidine) based anion exchange ionomer has an effective catalyst binding and is employed to fabricate anion exchange membrane water electrolyzers (AEMWE) along with other electrochemical applications i.e. fuel cells and battery electrodes. In addition, the invention also relates to a membrane electrode assembly ionomer into an anion exchange membrane and applying the anion exchange membrane to an alkaline fuel cell and a water electrolysis device.
