Abstract: The present invention relates to the food preservative detection kit for detecting a tagged carcinogenic food preservative and its method of preparation. The invention provides substrate-less Molecular Imprinted Polymer (MIP) blocks acting as probe in detecting a tagged carcinogenic food preservative, named Formalin (FOL). Greenly synthesized Cu/Cu2O nanoparticles have been embedded in MIP (Cu/Cu2O@MIP) for selective and specific detection of FOL at lower concentrations.
