Abstract: The present invention relates to a topical herbo-mineral dermatological composition comprising purified Maricha, Trivrit, Danti, Musta, Devadaru, Kushta, Haridra, Daruharidra, Raktachandana, Indrayana, Karavira, Arka, Hartala, Manahshila, Karanja, Langali, Shunthi, Chitraka, Bhringaraja, Vatsanabha, Tuttha and Sphatika. The ingredients are purified, powdered, mixed in substantially equal proportions and processed with Gomutra-Arka by Bhavana or trituration to obtain a composition suitable for external application on skin. The composition may be formulated as an ointment, cream, gel, paste, medicated oil, lotion, balm or liniment. The composition provides anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antifungal, antipruritic, keratolytic, pigment-modulating and skin-barrier-supporting activity and is useful for external management of psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo, chronic dermatitis, fungal skin infection, lichenified skin disorder, hyperkeratotic plaque, chronic itching disorder, hyperpigmented lesion, depigmented lesion, chronic plaque lesion and chronic non-healing dermatological lesion.
