MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621068653 A) filed by Saaz Research And Development on May 28, 2026, for A Green Carbon-Sequestering Concrete Mixture And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Inamdar, Yusuf A. S.; and Inamdar, Abbas, Yusuf.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT “A GREEN CARBON-SEQUESTERING CONCRETE MIXTURE AND METHOD THEREOF” The present invention provides a method for preparing a green carbon-sequestering concrete mixture. The method comprises collecting construction and demolition (C&D) waste (106), processing the waste through segregation, sorting, crushing, grading, screening, and contaminant removal to obtain processed recycled aggregates (110) as 70–100 wt % of total aggregate content, and preparing a primary production mixture by dry mixing the processed recycled aggregates (110), cementitious binder materials (113), supplementary cementitious materials (114), and chemical admixtures. Atmospheric carbon dioxide captured from ambient air using Direct Air Capture (DAC) plant (102) is infused into the mixture during carbon dioxide infusion stage (118). Already-processed water from the already-processed water subsystem (119) is added to form the final green concrete mixture (121). The processed recycled aggregates (110), cementitious binder materials (113), and infused carbon dioxide undergo simultaneous in-situ carbonation and hydration interaction within the fresh concrete matrix to form stable mineral carbonate phases.
