Abstract: Disclosed helmet-mounted system for overhead impact-zone prediction and directional haptic feedback (100) comprises a hard hat body (102), an overhead sensor array (104) configured to detect an overhead object and generate object detection data, an orientation sensing unit (106) configured to generate helmet orientation data, and an embedded processing unit (108) configured to locally process the object detection data and helmet orientation data in real time. The system (100) further comprises a memory unit (110), a classification unit (112) configured to classify a movement state of the overhead object, a safety envelope unit (114) configured to define a dynamic safety envelope, and an impact estimation unit (116) configured to determine a probable impact zone. A feedback control unit (118) generates a directional feedback command, and a haptic feedback unit (120) provides localized haptic feedback to guide the worker before the overhead object enters the dynamic safety envelope.
