Abstract: The present invention relates to a Frame-Structured Microstrip Antenna (FSMA) for broadband wireless communication applications operating at 5 GHz, as illustrated in Fig. 1. The antenna comprises a frame-shaped patch (2), a dielectric substrate (1), an inset feed (3), and ground (8), wherein synchronized hollow-frame geometries are incorporated to form an integrated radiating structure. The synchronized frame configuration reduces the effective dielectric volume while preserving the overall antenna dimensions, thereby modifying surface current propagation and improving the electromagnetic performance of the antenna. The framestructured substrate (1) further enables nested frame geometries for future compact multielement antenna implementations. The proposed antenna is evaluated through return loss, VSWR, gain, radiation pattern, surface current distribution, and electric field distribution. The disclosed FSMA exhibits stable radiation characteristics, favourable impedance performance, and efficient substrate (1) utilization, making it suitable for compact broadband wireless communication applications.
