MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411097876 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group AG on December 11, 2024, for A Hybrid Cooling System For A Power Component And A Method Thereof.
Inventors include Sachin Singhal; and Fabian Kayser.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hybrid cooling system (100) for vehicle power circuit having the at least one power component (110), comprising: a power component housing (102) configured to enclose the at least one power component (110);at least one air-cooling module (106) configured to provide air cooling to the at least one power component (110); at least one liquid-cooling module (108) configured to provide liquid cooling to the at least one power component (110); and a thermal controller (104) coupled to the at least one air-cooling module (106), the at least one liquid-cooling module (108), and the at least one power component (110).The thermal controller (104) is configured to at least one of: (i) measure the heat dissipation from the at least one power component (110); (ii) calculate the heat dissipation capacity of the at least one air-cooling module (106) based on temperature data of the power component housing (112); and (iii) actuate the at least one liquid-cooling module (108) based on the difference between the measured heat dissipation and the heat dissipation capacity of the at least one air-cooling module (106).
