MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611066705 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on May 27, 2026, for A Hybrid Nanostructure For Targeted And Sustained Drug Delivery.

Inventors include Divya Verma; Dr. Sourav Debnath; Diptendra Deb; and Rewak Tyagi.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: The nano-construct system (100) enables improved tumor infiltration while providing controlled drug release of a pharmaceutical agent. The system includes a biodegradable core (102) which functions as both a drug delivery system and structural body that maintains its shape throughout the entire process of drug delivery in the body. The responsive prodrug component (104) contains the pharmaceutical agent which links to the tumor-microenvironment-cleavable linker for site-specific drug delivery. A protective outer layer (106) surrounds the biodegradable core (102) and designed to keep the nano-construct stable until it encounters tumor microenvironment which enables hidden penetration-enhancing surface feature (108) to interact with stromal, extracellular matrix components. The size-modulating element (110) allows both size reduction and size transformation of particle material which occurs inresponse to conditions found within tumors. The invention provides creating the nano-construct system through three steps which include controlled self-assembly and functional component integration followed by purification into medical-grade product.
