MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641069196 A) filed by Prasinos Tech Innovations Private Limited on June 02, 2026, for A Hydrodynamic Cavitation Based Novel Approach For Refining Of Soyabean Oil.
Inventors include Dr. Aditi Mullick; Dr. Anupam Mukherjee; Mr. Shreyans Tejpal Shah; and Mr. Tejas Chandrakant Shah.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a hydrodynamic cavitation-based soybean oil refining system and method are disclosed for efficient degumming, neutralization, and purification of crude soybean oil. The system comprises a mixing tank (1) configured with a stirrer (3) and motor (2) for mixing crude soybean oil (11) with water, acid, and/or alkali, an oil pumping unit (4) for transferring the mixture to a hydrodynamic cavitation reactor (5) operated through a variable speed motor (2), and a recycle stream configured for repeated cavitation exposure. The cavitation-treated mixture is transferred to a centrifugal separation unit (6) for separating oil (13) and gum fractions (14), wherein gums are collected through a gum out stream and gum collection tank (6a). The separated oil stream (6b) is subjected to filtration for removal of residual impurities, followed by collection in a refined oil collection tank (10). The disclosed system enhances interphase mass transfer, reduces processing time and energy consumption, and improves impurity removal efficiency compared to conventional soybean oil refining processes.
