The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.
Abstract: Myasthenia Gravis and Muscular Dystrophy are diseases that both cause muscle weakness making it hard to tell them apart in the early stages. Myasthenia Gravis is a disease that leads to weak muscles that get tired easily because of problems with the way nerves and muscles talk to each other. Muscular Dystrophy is a disease that causes muscles to get weaker over time and never get better. Traditional ways to diagnose these diseases like EMG, repeated nerve stimulation tests for antibodies, muscle biopsies and gene testing are costly. Need special labs and people who know how to use them. These resources are not always available in areas or places with limited money. This study introduces a small and not invasive tool that helps find and tell apart Myasthenia Gravis and Muscular Dystrophy using surface electromyography. The tool has surface electrodes parts to make the signals stronger and cleaner and a small computer to process the data. Features like how the signal gets weaker during repeated muscle use the type of sounds in the signal and how quickly the muscles get tired are taken from the data. Given to a system that can tell the difference between Myasthenia Gravis and Muscular Dystrophy. This tool is meant for use in places where doctors are not available and where people do not have easy access, to hospitals. It helps find these diseases send people to the right doctors and make it easier for people to get tested. It is not meant to take the place of the tests done by doctors but it offers a helpful and cheap way for doctors to manage these diseases.
