MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611059790 A) filed by Ritu Goyal; Dr Anil Dudy; and Prof. Dr Mukesh Singla on May 11, 2026, for A Machine Learning Framework For Colon Cancer Detection And Grading..
Inventors include Ritu Goyal; Dr Anil Dudy; and Prof. Dr Mukesh Singla.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a machine learning framework for automated detection and grading of colon cancer. The system integrates a data collection module acquiring multimodal data comprising magnetic resonance imaging scans through an MRI imaging sub-module and histopathological images through a histopathological imaging sub-module. A data pre-processing module applies noise removal, normalization, and augmentation. A dataset partitioning module divides data into training, validation, and testing subsets. A deep learning model architecture comprising a convolutional neural network sub-module, a residual network sub-module, and a U-Net segmentation sub-module concurrently performs tumor classification, segmentation, and grading. A model training module employs Adam optimization for convergence. A performance evaluation module computes accuracy, precision, recall, and F1- score. A clinical decision support module interfaces with clinical systems. The framework enables magnification-independent, automated colon cancer diagnosis.
