Abstract: TITLE: “A MECHANICAL TIMER FOR A FLAME FAILURE DEVICE (FFD) OF A GAS STOVE” ABSTRACT Present disclosure discloses a mechanical timer for a flame failure device (FFD) of a gas stove. The timer includes a knob displaceable linearly between a first position and a second position, and rotatable in a first direction and a second direction, to set a desired time. Further, the timer includes a push lever and a cam coupled to the knob. The push displaces along displacement of the knob and the cam rotates along with rotation of the knob. Additionally the timer includes a first microswitch which toggles from a deactivated state to an activated state, in response to rotation of the cam in the first direction. Further, the timer includes a second microswitch which is activated corresponding to displacement of the push lever to the second position. Activation of the second microswitch supplies power from the thermocouple to the solenoid valve, during toggling of the first microswitch from the deactivated state to the activated state in response to rotation of the knob in the first direction, to deliver continuous power supply to the solenoid valve.
