Abstract: The present invention discloses a mechanically actuated quasi square wave inverter system for converting direct current (DC) into a quasi square wave alternating current (AC) output using a mechanically rotating commutator assembly in combination with simple electronic control circuits. The system comprises a DC power source, a frequency control circuit, an amplitude control circuit, a DC motor, and a commutator wheel having conductive switching segments arranged to periodically reverse the polarity of the input supply. The rotational speed of the motor determines the output frequency, while the amplitude control circuit independently regulates the output voltage. Unlike conventional inverters employing complex semiconductor switching devices and programmable controllers, the proposed system provides a mechanically visible switching mechanism that enables direct observation of AC generation. The invention offers a low-cost, modular, and easily maintainable platform suitable for educational institutions, technical laboratories, research facilities, and experimental applications requiring adjustable quasi square wave output with independent frequency and amplitude control while facilitating enhanced understanding of inverter operating principles.
