Abstract: A MECHANISM FOR LOCKING CIRCUIT BREAKERS AND RELATED PRODUCTS VIA PADLOCKS IN ROTARY HANDLES AT DISTINCT STATES The present invention provides a mechanism for locking rotary handles (1) of circuit breakers in distinct states (ON and OFF) to enhance safety. The rotary handle assembly (1) is mounted on a panel door and connected to a molded case circuit breaker via a shaft. The rotary handle knob assembly (2) includes a knob housing (18), knob push button (14), padlock slider (17), and padlock pin (10). The knob push button (14) actuates the padlock slider (17) via a wedge action, which in turn moves the padlock pin (10) to engage with a slot (4.1) in the rotary handle housing (4). The mechanism accommodates padlocks with diameters ranging from 5mm to 8mm, preventing unauthorized switching of the MCCB state. The rotary handle housing (4) includes a knockout (4.2) for locking in the ON state. The spring-loaded return mechanism ensures the components return to their original positions when the padlock is removed. FIGURES 4 & 7
