MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641091775 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Hyderabad on July 29, 2026, for A Method And A System For A Predictive Thermal And Performance Management Of An Electronic Device.

Inventors include Parveen Nisha; Ratnala Vinay; and Amit Acharyya.

The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.

Abstract: The present subject matter discloses a predictive thermal and a performance management method (1900) for a GPU. The method (1900) includes integrating a DLL injection mechanism into an application running at an electronic device. The DLL injection mechanism extracts a scene-level rendering behaviour and a DX API activity associated with the application without modifying original application binaries. The method (1900) includes collecting a plurality of hardware parameters associated with the electronic device when the application is running on the electronic device. The method (1900) includes identifying an optimal GPU frequency configuration to be applied to the electronic device switching through a DVFS, based on a first portion of the plurality of hardware parameters, the scene-level rendering behaviour and the DX API activity. The method (1900) further includes adjusting a fan speed and one or more cooling parameters of the electronic device based on a second portion of the plurality of hardware parameters. (FIG. 19)
