Abstract: ABSTRACT A METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MANAGING FOREIGN OBJECT DEBRIS (FOD) ON AN OPERATIONAL SURFACE The present disclosure relates to a system (100) and a method (400) for managing Foreign Object Debris (FOD) on an operational surface. The system comprises a scanning assembly (101) detachably mountable on a mobile platform and configured to acquire surface profile data during traversal of the operational surface. A processing unit (106) generates a three-dimensional (3D) point cloud representation based on the acquired data and detects deviations by comparing the 3D point cloud with predefined baseline surface profile data. The detected deviation corresponds to measurement differences exceeding a predefined threshold. The processing unit (106) is further configured to classify the detected deviation as FOD and transmit the data corresponding to the detected FOD to a downstream subsystem for further action. [
