Abstract: This disclosure is directed generally to wireless communication networks and particularly to configuration and provisioning of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and/or Machine Learning (ML) (AI. ML) functionalities and models in both terminal devices and network nodes in wireless communication networks. For example, a network node may configure a terminal device with respect to measurements intended for AI/ML functionalities in terms of measurement time, objects, reporting and the like. The terminal device may preform and report measurements based on such configuration. Alternatively, the terminal device may further preform predictions based on the measurement using terminal side AI/ML functionalities. The network node may receive the measurements and further perform prediction using network side AI/ML functionalities, or alternatively receive predictions and/or measurements from the terminal device. The predictions may then be used manage mobility of the terminal device for a future time.
