Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for deterministic self-healing routing in a flying ad-hoc network (FANETs) with bounded recovery time, wherein each unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operates as an autonomous network node executing a finite state machine (FSM) for routing and fault recovery. Each UAV periodically exchanges beacon messages containing residual energy, link stability, and delay information. A deterministic score function computes the optimal nexthop based on these parameters to ensure loop-free and energy-efficient routing. Upon link failure, the FSM triggers a self-healing process through backup path activation or fallback broadcast, guaranteeing recovery within a bounded duration of three beacon intervals. The system operates with low computational complexity and deterministic convergence, making it suitable for lightweight UAV platforms. The invention ensures reliable, scalable, and energyaware communication in dynamic aerial environments such as disaster management, surveillance, precision agriculture, and temporary communication networks.
