Abstract: ABSTRACT A METHOD FOR EVALUATING AND OPTIMIZING INTER-BASIN WATER TRANSFER PROJECTS Disclosed herein a method for evaluating and optimizing inter-basin water transfer projects (100), the method comprises identifying inter-basin water transfer links and their associated regions. The method further comprises, collecting and analyzing data related to water availability, irrigation patterns, crop yields, and command areas. Further, conducting a socio-economic impact analysis using a socio-accounting matrix to assess the impact on employment, services, and linked sectors. Further, performing a sustainability study of reservoirs before and after linking, including hydropower and solar power benefits and generating a cost-benefit analysis to determine the economic feasibility and internal rate of return for the water transfer projects.
